Max Verstappen lost the lead of Autosport Plus readers' Formula 1 driver rankings thanks to his calamitous Belgian Grand Prix

Verstappen loses Autosport readers' F1 driver ratings lead after Spa

The Red Bull driver had headed the table - calculated by readers' votes on our interactive driver ratings features published after every F1 race - for the last two grands prix.

But his first corner clash with Kimi Raikkonen at Spa and subsequent dramatic exit at Eau Rouge meant Verstappen only earned a 4.7 out of 10 average from the Belgian GP votes.

That drops his season average to 8.24, meaning Lewis Hamilton edges back into the lead on 8.27.

The world champion scored 8.7 from your Belgian GP votes for his pursuit of first-time winner Charles Leclerc.

Unsurprisingly Leclerc's Spa drive merited a high mark - a 9.8 out of 10 that vaults him to fourth in the outright table for the year behind Hamilton, Verstappen and Carlos Sainz Jr.

Further back, Daniil Kvyat's strong recovery from a grid penalty to a seventh-place finish edges him up to ninth in the outright table ahead of Valtteri Bottas.
