Verstappen: I Got the Best Out of the Car

Jos Verstappen claimed he extracted the maximum from his Minardi in today's qualifying for the San Marino Grand Prix at the Imola circuit.

The Dutchman's effort, however, was rewarded with a disappointing 19th position, only ahead of his teammate.

"We tried very hard and went quickly during the morning," said Verstappen. "I was pretty happy with the balance of the car â€" there was slight oversteer in the first sector, which then became less in sectors two and three.

"Once again, it's fair to say we got pretty much all we could out of the package today."

British teammate Justin Wilson finished at the bottom of the times with the second car from the small Anglo-Italian squad. The rookie was hit by mechanical problems in the practice session, and could not simulate a qualifying run before the one-lap shootout.

"I made a slight mistake in the middle of the first sector, which cost me some time," admitted Wilson. "Other than that, I wasn't unhappy with what was my first attempt this weekend at a low-fuel, qualifying run. All in all, it has been a reasonable day's effort."
