Trulli Hoping for Reliability on Sunday

Italian Jarno Trulli is hoping for reliability in tomorrow's Australian Grand Prix to be able to finish in the points after a promising qualifying on Saturday.

Italian Jarno Trulli is hoping for reliability in tomorrow's Australian Grand Prix to be able to finish in the points after a promising qualifying on Saturday.

Trulli, who moved from Jordan to Renault this season, posted the seventh quickest time, claiming the 'best of the rest' spot behind the Ferrari, Williams, and McLaren teams. As most of the drivers, Trulli claimed the weather conditions made it hard for his team, and was hoping the Renault will allow him to see the chequered flag in Sunday's race.

"A tough qualifying session for everybody, but the team sent me out at the right moment to set my time," said the Italian driver. "On my first run, I lost time in the final sector behind a Jaguar, and so went straight out again on new tyres.

"By then, the circuit was getting a little wet, and Webber's Minardi span in front of me, but overall it's a good result for myself and the team which shows the amount of work we have done together over the winter. Tomorrow, I hope first of all for reliability, and we'll see what happens after that."

Teammate Jenson Button, on the other hand, was very disappointed after setting the eleventh fastest time of the day, nearly a second behind his teammate. The young Briton was looking forward to a better result in the race.

"Obviously, I'm not particularly happy with my final position," admitted Button. "Everything was looking quite good after my first run, and I was fourth when I set my time, even though the tyres were a lap old. But when it started raining during the second run, it meant we couldn't get back out on the track.

"A very disappointing session for me, but ultimately it's the race tomorrow that counts for the points."
