Toyota target more points at Silverstone

Toyota are bullish about their chances of scoring points at this weekend's British Grand Prix, despite a disappointing time in France

The team believe they made a step forward with the pace of their TF107 at the Silverstone test two weeks ago and, although that did not result in them taking home any points from Magny-Cours, they think they should be better off this time out.

Pascal Vasselon, the team's senior general manager of chassis, said: "We had a successful test at Silverstone two weeks ago so we approach the British Grand Prix with confidence.

"The test at Silverstone went smoothly. Both drivers felt the car was very reasonable at high speed so we are confident of scoring points again this weekend after a disappointing race in France."

Ralf Schumacher believes he is more comfortable in the car than he has been up until now, and is looking forward to the weekend.

"Even though the result at Magny-Cours was not what we expected, we can take some positives out of the weekend," he said looking back at the French Grand Prix.

"I lost a lot of time held up behind another car early in the race but after that the car felt pretty good and my lap times were better than our position suggested.

"It was frustrating to miss out on points because we had a good opportunity but I am confident we can continue to improve and get back into the points."
