Teams Allowed to Change Cars Set-Up

Race organisers at the Brazilian Grand Prix have allowed teams to change their cars' set-up to cope with the wet weather conditions which arrived at Interlagos on Sunday morning.

Race organisers at the Brazilian Grand Prix have allowed teams to change their cars' set-up to cope with the wet weather conditions which arrived at Interlagos on Sunday morning.

A torrential rain hit the Brazilian circuit, and although an hour before the start of the race the rain is lighter, the track is still very wet.

The drivers will be forced to start the race without full wet weather tyres after both Michelin and Bridgestone, who are allowed to take only one wet weather tyre specification, decided to take intermediates to Brazil.

"Due to changes in climatic conditions teams may change their car ride height and their front and rear wing set-ups," the information screens at the circuit informed the teams.

The Sunday morning rain was heavier than on Friday, when many drivers signed a letter expressing their reluctance to take part in first qualifying under such conditions. Several drivers have suggested that the race could start behind the safety car. If conditions deteriorated further, the start could be delayed.
