Super Aguri pleased with Friday's progress

Super Aguri team principal Aguri Suzuki was happy with his team's progress in practice for the Bahrain Grand Prix after a relatively trouble-free day

After a successful Grand Prix debut in Bahrain last weekend, the Japanese squad took to the Sepang circuit for the first time this morning.

The day proved productive for the team despite some problems, with both Takuma Sato and Yuji Ide completing their scheduled programme.

The Super Aguri duo, however, finished at the bottom of the times, with Sato ahead of his rookie teammate. Sato was over two seconds behind the Midland of Tiago Monteiro, with Ide over 1.5 seconds back.

"I am quite happy with today's practice sessions as both cars ran with relatively few problems," said Suzuki. "We completed our programme for both cars and for the first time we tried a new construction Bridgestone tyre which both drivers were quite satisfied with.

"Yuji still has a big understeer problem, but we shall run a new front wing on his car tomorrow and hope that this will be rectified. The team will now study our data from today and work on our set up for tomorrow - but on the whole it has been a successful day. "
