Sunday Warm-Up - German GP

Briton David Coulthard, due to start on pole in Sunday's German Grand Prix, spun off and and hit the barriers during a drama-filled warm-up session.

He escaped injury but was forced to continue in the McLaren team's spare car.

Coulthard was fastest during the session, one tenth of a second ahead of team mate and defending world champion Mika Hakkinen.

Spaniard Pedro de la Rosa, who will start from fifth on the grid in his Arrows, also hit the barriers near the end of the session when he ran into debris from the bodywork of Nick Heidfeld's Prost. He, too, was unhurt.

De la Rosa clocked the third-best time in the warm-up, just ahead of world championship leader Michael Schumacher in his Ferrari.

Canadian Jacques Villeneuve's BAR, meanwhile, collided with Dutchman Jos Verstappen in the second Arrows going into the first chicane during the first minute of the session.

Both went off and were forced to run back to the pitlane to continue in spare cars.
