200 poles for Great Britain
Lewis Hamilton scored his 15th pole position and tied Felipe Massa for 17th place on the all-time list. It was also the 200th pole for a British driver - these are the previous milestones:

Adrian Sutil's fourth place was the best finish of his career, and he also set his maiden fastest lap.
He is the 10th driver this season to record the fastest lap in a race, helping 2009 to equal the all-time record. It has been set five times in the past, in 1954, 1975, 1976, 1981 and 1982.
Sutil's fastest lap was also the first for Force India, making it the seventh team this season to post a fastest lap. This record was matched in 1976, 1977 and 1981.

• Adrian Sutil had his best career performance, qualifying on the front row for the first time. There have now been 12 different drivers on the front row of the grid this year. Only once have there been more, in 1968 when there were 14.
• Tonio Liuzzi also recorded his best qualifying in seventh. His previous best was 11th in the 2005 Spanish Grand Prix and the 2007 Chinese Grand Prix.
• Force India also scored its best combined qualifying result, with an average position of 4.5.
• Williams had its worst result of the season with both cars going out in Q1 for the first time this season.
• Nico Rosberg's 18th place was his worst since the 2008 British GP when he was 18th in qualifying and started 20th.
• Toro Rosso also had its worst qualifying result of the year, sweeping the back row of the grid for the first time in the team's history.
• In Q1, the first 19 drivers were separated by 0.871s. It is the first time since the introduction of the knockout format in 2006 that so many drivers have been within one second of the fastest time.
Race notes
• Rubens Barrichello scored his 11th victory in his 280th start and in doing so led a race for the 50th time. He is the 10th driver to lead 50 GPs. Michael Schumacher leads the chart with 141 races led.
• Kimi Raikkonen's 62nd podium finish tied David Coulthard at fifth-place on the all-time list. His next target is Rubens Barrichello, who now has 68.
• Nico Rosberg's streak of consecutive points finishes came to an end at eight.
• Toyota has its third straight race without scoring a point, the first time is has done so since 2007 (Turkey to China).
• Nick Heidfeld has scored points in back-to-back races for the first time this year.
