Sebastian Vettel says he is not thinking of fourth F1 title yet

The Red Bull driver is favourite for this year's crown, with him holding a comfortable 46 points lead over Fernando Alonso in the standings ahead of this weekend's Italian Grand Prix.

But although a good run of form now would deliver a killer blow to his rivals' title ambitions, Vettel says he must not get too far ahead of himself at this stage of the campaign.

"I think our focus should really lie on every single race and not get any distraction from what is going on around us," explained Vettel.

"I think we had years where it proved very good to just look after ourselves where we were in comfortable positions, and other years where we were not in such comfortable positions.

"But I think there is a great temptation of losing the focus, by only focusing on the things that are not relevant.

"I try not to look at one particular guy or two particular guys. I try to look after myself and try to achieve my maximum. If I do that then I have the best chance to win the championship."

Vettel says that until he is far enough ahead of his rivals to be convinced that he cannot be caught, then he must not think about the championship.

"I am trying not to look at the difference at the points, I am trying not to get distracted," he explained.

"I think we have worked very hard to be in that position. I would not want to change with any other one, but I am sure there are plenty of people who would like to change with us.

"There are a lot of races to come, a lot of points to score, and you don't have to be a genius to work out there are more points to score than we currently have. So that is the approach. I think anything else would be wrong."
