World Champion Michael Schumacher got back to form after yesterday's mishap during testing and posted the quickest time in the morning session of his second day of work at the Barcelona circuit.
The Ferrari driver yesterday crashed out on his first lap of testing since the end of the 2002 season, damaging the rear of his car. This morning, however, Schumacher was back in form and lapped more than half a second quicker than anyone else after 49 laps at the wheel of the F2002.
Schumacher's teammates Rubens Barrichello and Luca Badoer completed a dominant morning for the Italian World Champions, setting the second and third quickest times respectively, the Brazilian working on acclimatising to the HANS device, which will be compulsory next season.
Canadian Jacques Villeneuve set a promising pace as he continued to work with the new Honda-powered 005, finishing fourth fastest less than a tenth behind Badoer. Teammate Jenson Button also worked with the 005, posting the fifth quickest time ahead of the two Jaguar drivers.
Brazilian Antonio Pizzonia took over from teammate Mark Webber at the wheel of the new R4 which was unveiled yesterday. Pizzonia finished more then a second ahead of the Australian, who worked with last year's R3.
Italian Giancarlo Fisichella was also on track but did not set a time with the new Jordan EJ13.
