Schuey not comfy with points lead

Coulthard had scored points in every race until his Mercedes engine blew up on lap 54 putting him out of last Sunday's race, sparking talk of the end of the Scot's assault on the championship.

However, with only eight rounds gone, Schumacher says there are still far too many races to go for him to be thinking about taking his fourth world title. The German also believes 18 points is nowhere near enough to breed complacency.

"The lead I have is just not enough," said Schumacher. "We still have nine races to go and many points to be awarded, so I am not comfortable at all. The championship has far too long to go to be over."

The Maranello team leader finished second behind brother Ralf's Williams-BMW in Canada and has taken four victories so far this season compared to Coulthard's two. But Schumacher is not comforted by the fact that DC's string of points finishes has come to an end.

"What goes around and comes around," said the reigning world champ. "One day you suffer, the next day somebody else suffers. And honestly, DC has been lucky in that respect so far this year as he has always been in the points. He had start problems twice, but to have your first no-points finish eight races in is pretty unusual."

Schumacher spent three days testing at Silverstone this week in an effort to find a race set-up for his Ferrari ahead of the British Grand Prix in July and catch up with rival British teams, which spend much more time running at the Northamptonshire circuit.

"We prepared the car for the Silverstone race in particular," said Schumacher of the test. "That included sorting out tyres and trying to find a balance for the car, which was not easy as we are not there very often compared to the British teams. We have to learn a lot there."
