Sauber to run seperate strategies in race

The Sauber-Petronas team will repeat it's Australian Grand Prix plan to run its two drivers, Nick Heidfeld and Heinz-Harald Frentzen, on different strategies in tomorrow's Malaysian GP in Sepang

Heidfeld, who failed to finish in Melbourne two weeks ago, qualified sixth on the grid suggesting that he may be planning three stops, while Frentzen, a lowly 13th, is likely to be on a heavier fuel load.

"In Melbourne running two strategies in qualifying paid off for us in the race," said team principal Peter Sauber, " and I believe the situation is the same here in Sepang."

Frentzen was happy with his car despite his grid slot and seems confident for tomorrow: "Obviously I'm running a different strategy to Nick [Heidfeld] and I was pleased with my lap. I was pretty much on the limit, the balance was good, and I'm on target for the strategy that I was running."

Heidfeld was equally positive, the German lining up alongside Ferrari's Rubens Barrichello on the third row. "This morning there were a couple of things with the car's set-up that I wasn't happy with," he said. "But though my lap this afternoon wasn't quite as smooth as the one I did yesterday, I'm happy."
