Salo 'Very Disappointed' after Poor Showing

The Toyota team failed to shine in today's qualifying session for the Canadian Grand Prix, despite a promising performance from Finn Mika Salo on Friday.
The 35-year old driver enjoyed a strong start of his weekend in practice, setting the sixth quickest time of the session with the Michelin-shod TF102 chassis. But Salo was unhappy with the handling of his car during today's qualifying, and could only set what he claimed was a very disappointing 18th quickest time.
"The car has not been balanced very well all day and it was a very disappointing session," admitted Salo. "I was unlucky with yellow flags and oil on the track, which meant that I had to abort two of my runs. We have to go through everything again today and do a lot of work before the race tomorrow."
Teammate Allan McNish was also unable to post a competitive time today, the Scot having to settle for 20th position ahead of the two Minardis. McNish, like Salo, complained about the balance of his car in the first visit of his Toyota team to the Montreal circuit.
"It was a difficult session, especially with the rain at the end," said McNish. "The circuit has not had much grip all day and neither myself, nor Mika could find a good balance for the car.
"Generally we have not been very quick but we will push for the race and I am sure race set-up will be better compared to today."
