Romain Grosjean 'fed up' with Haas Formula 1 team's brake trouble

Grosjean bemoaned being "fed up with these brakes" in an exasperated radio message during second Hungarian Grand Prix practice on Friday.

"It's been a few races we've been struggling with the brakes," he said.

"The first quali [simulation] lap I struggled with some front-locking, and the next push lap it was all over the place on rear-locking. I lost it into Turn 1. I just need to understand why.

"We're not quite yet on top of it. I'm sure by tomorrow we'll find solutions. We always find solutions, so I'm sure we're going to sort it out.

"So far we've always done a great job and moved forward, so by tomorrow it should be sorted."

Grosjean finished 15th quickest, 2.429 seconds behind pacesetter Nico Rosberg's Mercedes, and just over two tenths of a second adrift of 10th-placed Sergio Perez's Force India.

Grosjean feels he has a genuine shot at making Q3 for the first time this year.

"There is more to come tomorrow and I'm hoping for my first top 10 in qualifying, that would be nice," added Grosjean.

"We're going to do some set-up changes to make the car even faster."

He is mindful of the new track limits regulations, with electronic detection technology installed at Turns 4 and 11.

There were numerous offenders during practice, notably at Turn 4, with Grosjean among them.

While there were no penalties during the two sessions, drivers will have their times deleted during qualifying if they run wide.

"Apparently I went wide," said Grosjean.

"It's not so easy with the new kerbs to know exactly where you are. Altogether I think I went out twice, so I have to be careful in qualifying.

"I only knew after the session. My engineer told me a message appeared twice.

"In qualifying I'm hoping they can pass up the message."
