Red Bull vow to work on reliability
Red Bull Racing's team boss Christian Horner says his team must work on solving their reliability issues after a frustrating Bahrain Grand Prix
Both David Coulthard and Mark Webber retired from the Sakhir race with mechanical problems after a strong showing, especially from the Scot.
Coulthard looked set for a point-scoring finish after a gutsy drive from the back of the field following problems in qualifying. But the Scot's race came to an end when he suffered a driveshaft failure on lap 37.
Webber retired five laps later with a gearbox issue.
"Frustrating is the only way to describe today's race," said Horner. "Driving an aggressive strategy, David was a candidate for driver of the day. He overtook more than ten cars and looked set for a strong points finish, only for a driveshaft related failure to force his retirement.
"Mark made a good start and pushed Fisichella very hard in the first stint. Unfortunately he lost time in the second stint due to a fuel flap failure and, ultimately, a gear box issue caused him to retire.
"We need to get on top of these reliability issues very quickly, as obviously they're unacceptable. However, we can see that we've continued to make progress and should have had two cars in the points today."
