Red Bull lament 'disastrous' Valencia race

Red Bull Racing's team principal Christian Horner labelled their performance at the European Grand Prix as disastrous after a point-less weekend

Mark Webber finished down in 12th position after a one-stop strategy did not pay off, the Australian hoping to benefit from a safety car period that never happened.

Teammate David Coulthard finished 17th and last after an incident on the opening lap and a spin when hitting Giancarlo Fisichella.

"A disastrous race," said Horner. "David got involved in an incident in the first lap, which damaged his car and Mark, who was on a one-stop strategy, was hoping for a safety car that never appeared.

"He didn't have enough pace, particularly after his pitstop. It's our most disappointing race of the year."

Webber admitted the team have a lot of work to do to find the reasons for their struggles.

"We just weren't quick enough. We were hoping for a few safety cars to come out during the race, so ran a one-stop strategy, but it didn't happen. It was a difficult race pace wise and we've got a lot of analysis to do."
