Ralf welcomes Spa changes

Ralf Schumacher has welcomed the changes made to the Spa-Francorchamps circuit ahead of this year's Belgian Grand Prix

The German, however, agreed with several other drivers that the pitlane entry is too tight.

"It is very nicely done," Toyota driver Schumacher told autosport.com of the changes during testing. "The pitlane entry is a bit tight but in general they did a good job.

"In regards to the pitlane, it depends on yourself, if you don't have to have to rush in so quickly it is okay.

"About La Source, I did not realise it was that tight, I do like the exit. I think it is better now the wall is further away. It is not so critical. But it is too slow for overtaking."

Schumacher said, however, that there were places that still needed to be looked at in order to improve safety.

"In general there are still some places which need to be looked at, like Blanchimont," he added. "It is a very fast track so the run-off areas are never enough, and in some corner you need big run-off like the very fast last one (Blanchimont)."
