Ralf Shocked by Crash Penalty

Ralf Schumacher was shocked that stewards at Sunday's German Grand Prix had blamed him for a first corner accident that led to six cars crashing out of the Formula One race.

Schumacher was ordered to drop 10 grid positions from his qualifying spot at the start of his next race in Hungary later this month after stewards ruled he had not paid any attention to the other drivers.

"I'm truly shocked," Schumacher told Tuesday's Bild newspaper. "I didn't do anything wrong. I'm definitely not a Rambo. Seriously, I feel completely innocent."

The Williams team have appealed against the stewards' decision to the International Court of Appeal at the governing International Automobile Federation (FIA). The FIA said an announcement as to when the body would meet to discuss the matter would be made on Wednesday.

Schumacher collided with Finn Kimi Raikkonen's McLaren and the Ferrari of Brazilian Rubens Barrichello as the three cars approached the first corner of the race.

Three other cars were caught up in the wake of the crash and forced to abandon the race, which was eventually won by Colombian Juan Pablo Montoya in a Williams.
