Raikkonen says title still possible

The Ferrari driver is 22 points behind Hamilton as the season reaches its halfway point at Silverstone this weekend.

Rookie Hamilton has finished all races on the podium this year, while Raikkonen has endured a shaky start to life at Ferrari.

The Finn, however, returned to winning ways last Sunday, leading a Ferrari one-two at Magny-Cours, and he believes the title is still within reach.

"We try to go as fast as we can and score as many points as possible," Raikkonen told reporters at Silverstone. "Sometimes you make some mistakes, sometimes you push to the limit, but I don't worry about it too much. We don't have much to lose.

"There are still many races to go and we only need one bad race for the other guys and it can turn around completely. So we just keep pushing, try and get good results like the last race and see where we end up."

Despite his optimism, Raikkonen is cautious ahead of this weekend's Grand Prix, although he reckons Ferrari are improving race by race.

"We had a good weekend last weekend, but here could be a different story," he said. "We have a good basic understanding now so we should be quite confident for this weekend. I think it is getting better and better though."
