Raikkonen Positive about Qualifying

Finn Kimi Raikkonen is positive of a good result in Saturday's qualifying for the Spanish Grand Prix after posting the seventh quickest time in Friday's practice.

Finn Kimi Raikkonen is positive of a good result in Saturday's qualifying for the Spanish Grand Prix after posting the seventh quickest time in Friday's practice.

"Initially we were struggling to find a good set-up for the car, but we made considerable improvements during the second session," said Raikkonen after the session at the Barcelona circuit.

"We had to collect a lot of new data as the conditions today were different from pre-season testing. I'm positive about qualifying."

The McLaren driver is looking to end his bad streak of results this weekend, having retired with mechanical problems in the last three races. Raikkonen, who scored his only points for McLaren at the season opening Australian Grand Prix, outpaced teammate David Coulthard, the Scot being down in 12th place.

This track always has significant tyre degradation after the first timed lap, but that aside, I just can't get a consistent balance out of the car," said Coulthard. "The engineers and myself have to work hard to understand where our problems lie."
