Raikkonen Hoping for Reliability

Finn Kimi Raikkonen is hoping for reliability to score some points at Sunday's Canadian Grand Prix at the Gilles Villeneuve circuit.

The McLaren driver, who has scored just one point in seven races, has retired with mechanical failures in the last two Grands Prix. Raikkonen qualified in eighth place ahead of tomorrow's race and he is hopeful of adding some points to his poor tally.

"It was an OK lap," admitted Raikkonen. "However I had some problems at the last chicane and maybe lost one place. Basically on this circuit you need to drive over the kerbs a little bit, so how fast you get through the corner depends on how well you do that.

"Hopefully we can finish the race tomorrow and get some points."

Scot David Coulthard qualified right behind Raikkonen and was also confident of scoring points tomorrow.

Coulthard said: "I had a small amount of oversteer and was sliding a little bit with the rear during my qualifying lap, and as a result I went a bit wide at a couple of chicanes, so there is some time lost there.

"The balance of the car is good, so I think if we run reliably in tomorrow's race, it should be possible to score some points."
