Q & A with Felipe Massa

Q. You had a great weekend in Turkey, taking pole position and the win. Do you feel like momentum is with you?

Felipe Massa: Sure. You know, when it's fast, it's fast. I've had some bad moments, and it's good to have a great moment and great memory at the last race. But now I am really fully concentrating on the weekend, and hopefully we can repeat and have another great weekend. I think we have a good opportunity, and I think we need to try to work hard to carry on the good momentum.

Q. Where is the focus of that work? Is it in qualifying? Is it in strategy? What is going to make the difference this weekend?

FM: Everything. Everything is important. Not just the qualifying, but also the strategy, the race, and also the set-up of the car. So we need to concentrate 100 percent on what we are doing.

Q. Is it a slightly different set-up at Ferrari to previous years? In the past all the focus was on one guy, but at the moment both of you are in the fight. Does that have any drawbacks?

FM: No. We have two competitive drivers and a difference of one point between them, so we have to concentrate on getting both drivers in front of our competitors. That's what we managed to do in the last race, and we need to carry on like that.

Q. Are you not concerned about taking points away from each other?

FM: Well, when you have one point ... we are also fighting between ourselves. Nobody knows what's going to happen in the next five races, so we need to push each other and try to get as many points as we can.

Q. What are your thoughts on the new evidence that has come up in the spy scandal?

FM: No thoughts.

Q. How special is it for you to be in Monza this weekend?

FM: Monza is a very important race for us. I think every single improvement on the car here makes a lot of difference, because it has long straights. We have a new oil for the gearbox, which I think can bring us a little bit. We are looking forward to having a competitive car, because it is a very different track to the tracks that we are used to racing on.

Q. There are five races to go - at which tracks do you think Ferrari could have an advantage?

FM: We try to be in front at every track. It doesn't matter which track we go to, we need to push hard to score as many points more than our competitors as we can. It doesn't matter if it is here, or any other track.

Q. Can Ferrari win the championship?

FM: When you don't think you can win, for sure you are going to lose. So we are 100 percent motivated, both me as a driver, and also the team, that we can do it. And we are going to work hard until the last lap of the last race.

Q. Ferrari has been struggling a bit behind McLaren in testing. Do you have any fears about that?

FM: When you are one tenth behind, you cannot say you are struggling.

Q. Following other cars has been a problem all season. How is it with the low downforce settings?

FM: It's not so different. I was following some people here at testing, and having a long straight, sometimes you think it's easier. But it's amazing, the amount of downforce you lose behind the car, especially going into the quick corners. So it will be very difficult, even here.
