Pollock to Remain on BAR's Board

British American Racing chairman Ken Clarke has revealed that former team principal Craig Pollock still holds a stake in the team despite his departure on Monday.

British American Racing chairman Ken Clarke has revealed that former team principal Craig Pollock still holds a stake in the team despite his departure on Monday.

Pollock has been replaced by David Richards at the Brackley-based team after he chose to "pursue other interests", but Clarke has said that the Scot's shareholding in the team is the same and he remains on the board.

"Craig decided to pursue other things," Clarke said. "He played fantastic part in the first three seasons, but he has now decided to play a different role. He is still on the board and is still a shareholder in the company. It is Craig's phrase that he will pursue other interests. He has been a key figure and has been very involved from the word go.

"There is never an ideal time to change, but we hope to start the year with lots of positive news and lots of positive views. As I know from my own much shuffled career, three years is a long time and you have to move over to the next thing."

Pollock will also revert to his role as manager for BAR driver, and close friend, Jacques Villeneuve. He originally gave up the position shortly after taking over at the helm of the team in 1998.
