No Minardi Drive for Kubica in China

Robert Kubica will not be Minardi's third driver at this weekend's Chinese Grand Prix because he hasn't received confirmation of his superlicence

Despite dominating the World Series by Renault Championship this season, the Polish driver has opted to test for GP2 team Durango at Paul Ricard this week instead of waiting to see if he is granted a superlicence at the eleventh hour.

However, as Kubica did not complete 300kms of Formula One testing, he is not eligible for a superlicense despite his World Series by Renault title.

Kubica told Autosport-Atlas: "Everything was more or less decided for Formula One, but I am going to test GP2 instead. It is disappointing, but the rules are what they are. I don't have the experience. I think the rules are understood by everybody. They say I have to have 300kms of testing in an F1 car and I don't have that.

"Durango invited me so I will try and do my best for the team and it is a good opportunity for me."
