Nigel Mansell: Lewis Hamilton doing nothing wrong in F1 title fight

Hamilton is heading to this weekend's British Grand Prix with a 29-points deficit to Rosberg, having not finished ahead of the German since the Spanish GP.

But although the pressure is on him to close the gap before Rosberg gets too far ahead, Mansell reckons that everything is still very open.

"Nico is doing an absolutely fabulous job and Lewis isn't doing anything wrong," explained Mansell at Silverstone.

"Lewis just needs to concentrate, settle down a bit and get more Lady Luck - and this is what is exciting about Formula 1 racing.

"Sebastian Vettel for four years does nothing wrong. Everything is absolutely perfect, right? And look what's happened this year. Where's Lady Luck gone? Where's the reliability gone?

"How can you win four world championships and then be outqualified, be outraced, and the car not be performing as well as the other car and all the rest of it?

"So still in F1, you need that added something that you can't buy. Don't underrate Nico. Nico is a class act, he's a great driver, and he's doing what needs to be done. Lewis has got a challenge but I think Lewis is up for it."

Mansell thinks the fact that more points are on offer these days, allied to the race winner taking 50 points for winning in Abu Dhabi, means the title fight is far from over.

"Lewis is a few points behind but there are so many more races to go," he said. "It's nothing really, with the way the system works now. In years gone by, it would have been a bit of a deficit but I don't see it as a hiccup.

"There's a lot of races. There is a reliability challenge with the new regulations this year, so are both of their cars going to finish until the end of the year? I think it will come down to what each one has with reliability."
