New aero mods for Jaguar

Jaguar Racing is pinning its hopes of adding to its Formula 1 World Championship points account in this weekend's German Grand Prix at Hockenheim on a new aerodynamic package

Mark Webber scored a point in the British Grand Prix at Silverstone, and believes the new aero set-up will allow a repeat performance in Germany following a positive test at Jerez in Spain last week.

"The test at Jerez has been invaluable," said Webber. "I tested for two days last week and I worked for the majority of the time on our new aero package. I definitely felt that this is a step forward for us and I was really pleased with the balance of it throughout the day.

"I did a good number of laps on both days and came away feeling very positive. Looking ahead to Hockenheim, the team has been working hard recently focusing on areas where we can pull back a few tenths here and there and it seems to be making a difference."

Rookie team-mate Christian Klien, who is yet to record a world championship point, said: "I am now feeling very motivated going into this race weekend as I know that we are well prepared for this race and we are in a good position to capitalise on our package. We have had two good strong weekends and there is no reason why we can't do the same again this coming weekend."

Team chief David Pitchforth is also upbeat about Jaguar's chances in the final races of the season.

"Our new aero package is delivering positive results and we will be looking to take this to Hockenheim," said Pitchforth. "This development gives us a good amount of load and enhances our stability, all promising steps. With seven races to go we are pulling out all the stops to ensure that when there is a point to be scored we will be there."
