More Williams Testing for Priaulx

European Touring Car Champion Andy Priaulx has been handed the dream chance to assist with Williams' Formula One testing programme this year, after impressing during an outing for the team in Spain in January

The Briton, who was handed the try-out at Valencia as a prize for claiming last year's ETCC crown for BMW, did such a good job that Williams have decided to use him for further tests and promotional appearances for them throughout this season.

Priaulx will make his next appearance for Williams at the BMW Power Festival at Rockingham in May and will likely be used when regular test drivers Antonio Pizzonia and Nico Rosberg are not available.

"I'm really pleased that my relationship with BMW-Williams is developing and I hope that my single-seater experience, combined with my working methods, will make a positive contribution to the team's testing programme," said the Guernsey-based driver.

Priaulx made his name in hillclimbs, winning the 1995 British Championship, before making the switch to circuit racing. He climbed up the ranks to become a race-winner in British Formula Three before deciding to change disciplines to touring cars. After his ETCC success last season, this year he is an official BMW works driver in the World Touring Car Championship.
