Monza test - day three (AM)

David Coulthard continued McLaren's turn of speed in F1 testing at Monza this morning by topping the time sheets at the end the morning session

BAR will have been encouraged by Jacques Villeneuve's second fastest time after team-mate Ricardo Zonta had a heavy crash at the Parabolica corner due to a front brake failure. BAR test driver Patrick Lemarie has had to retire from testing duty as Zonta has taken over Lemarie's car after his own was damaged beyond repair during yesterday's crash.

Heinz-Harald Frenzten improved on yesterday's time by going third quickest only a tenth of a second behind Villeneuve.

Jenson Button, who posted the fourth fastest time, continued to out pace Williams test driver Bruno Junqueira who could only manage seventh place, albeit only sec behind Button.

Full times from the morning and afternoon sessions will be posted at the end of the day.
