Montoya unconcerned over Friday position

World Championship protagonist Juan Pablo Montoya is not worried that he was only eighth fastest in the first qualifying session for the Hungarian Grand Prix

Montoya was second on track today (Friday) after series leader Michael Schumacher, and although he eclipsed the Ferrari driver's time it was only good enough for eighth overall.

"I didn't put together the best lap, really," said Montoya. "In this morning's free practice I was seven-tenths quicker than in qualifying. The track was very dirty when I went out but it improved as it got cleaner. I believe our package should be pretty competitive here. We've got the pace."

Team-mate Ralf Schumacher defied the state of the track and was second fastest, despite being fourth on track today.

""I am fairly happy," he said. "This morning I had some problems with the set-up and we made quite a few changes on the car which seem to have been in the right direction. The track is slippery as it has always been here. For sure, you don't want to be the first car to go out on the track."
