Montoya Hoping to Bring Back Old Austrian Memories

Colombian star Juan Pablo Montoya is looking forward to bring back old memories from his F3000 days at the A1-Ring circuit, and to score another good result for the Williams team following his first finish at the Spanish Grand Prix.

Montoya, who finished second in Barcelona following a series of four consecutive retirements in his first season in Formula One, returns to Austria, where he enjoyed very successful days when he was raced there in F3000.

The Colombian is now looking forward to another good result at the Austrian circuit, despite the fact that Williams have not been very strong at the A1-Ring in the past few years.

"I am going to Austria in a confident mood, especially after my second place in Spain," said Montoya. "It is frustrating when you don't finish races, so I just wanted to make it to the chequered flag, and a second on top of that was the icing on the cake.

"I am looking forward to going to Austria because I have good memories of the A-1 Ring. I have raced there twice in F3000 â€" winning in '97 and coming second in '98.

"On paper it doesn't look a good track for the team, as our results over the last couple of years have not been very good, but in reality we have definitely improved our entire package and we are looking forward to demonstrating that on that circuit. We have had a positive test this week in Valencia and I hope we can see the results of this in Austria."

Team mate Ralf Schumacher, who recently moved to Austria, is also determined to return to the top spots after retiring from the Spanish Grand Prix ten days ago.

"I decided to move to Austria, therefore at the A-1 Ring I am going to have my first home race of this season," said Schumacher. "The track is not very demanding on drivers, nevertheless racing here has always been quite exciting.

"Unluckily in the last years I didn’t have that much luck and I hope this time it’s all going to change. I will do my best to get a good result to our team."
