Mixed feelings for Barrichello

Rubens Barrichello confessed to mixed feelings as he congratulated teammate Johnny Herbert on handing Stewart their first Grand Prix victory

'From the bottom of my heart I'm really happy for Johnny because he had had such a difficult time this season,' said the Brazilian after finishing third.

'But, to be honest, I am in two hearts about it because I had wanted to give Jackie [Stewart] his first team win - especially since this is my last season with the team.

'But I don't want to take anything away from Johnny, he drove a really good race.

'He won it on a guess on the weather. He guessed right, I didn't.

'He went for wets but all I could see were clear skies, so I must have been looking at a different sky to Johnny.

'I couldn't see the rain continuing long enough.

'But at least I have helped the team and as well as the pole earlier this year I have given them their first all-podium finish.'

The result lifts them to within two points of Williams and battling for a place in Formula One's Big Four in only their third season of Grand Prix racing.

Stewart has 31 points and Williams 33 with two races remaining.
