Michelin: No Justice in Sunday's Race

Michelin boss Pierre Dupasquier claimed the final result for Sunday's French Grand Prix was not fair for their partner team McLaren.

Michelin boss Pierre Dupasquier claimed the final result for Sunday's French Grand Prix was not fair for their partner team McLaren.

Finn Kimi Raikkonen looked set to score his first Formula One victory when, five laps from the end, he slid wide after running over an oil patch and had to concede to Michael Schumacher in the Bridgestone-shod Ferrari.

Raikkonen finished in second place, with teammate David Coulthard back in third, and Dupasquier claimed the British team deserved better.

"As far as we were concerned, everybody could see that our tyres were extremely competitive throughout the race and the final result does not do justice to the fantastic job that the McLaren team did today," said Dupasquier.

"Kimi Raikkonen drove exceptionally well and David Coulthard set a new outright lap record. Both drivers showed today that they have the ability to take the fight to the newly-crowned champion."

Michelin runners Juan Pablo Montoya, Ralf Schumacher and Jenson Button completed the top six, while Sauber's Nick Heidfeld was the second Bridgestone-shod car after finishing in seventh.
