Massa Welcomes Villeneuve's Arrival

Brazilian Felipe Massa is relishing the prospect of partnering Jacques Villeneuve when the former World Champion arrives at Sauber next year after enjoying their battle at the last race in Japan.

Brazilian Felipe Massa is relishing the prospect of partnering Jacques Villeneuve when the former World Champion arrives at Sauber next year after enjoying their battle at the last race in Japan.

Villeneuve, who signed to drive for Renault for the final three races of the season, has found it difficult to get back in the groove after a season on the sidelines following his split with BAR.

But Massa believes the Canadian will be back strong next season after a winter of testing and said: "For me it is very nice having Jacques as a teammate, a World Champion and it will be interesting for me to have a teammate like this.

"I'm looking forward to it. I hope to do a good job, be competitive and to be in front of him would be fantastic for me. It was a good fight at the last race, but it was not the only fight I had in the race. It was the only fight they showed on the television.

"There was a good fight at the start of the race, and a good fight with Montoya. It was a nice fight but it was not the only one."

Massa is looking forward to more action in his home race after failing to finish the last time he competed at Sao Paulo in his first season of driving for Sauber in 2002.

"I'm really looking forward to my home Grand Prix," he added. "We don't know about the weather but I hope it will be fine and we can do a good race. Hopefully we can get points, which would be fantastic for me."
