Sauber driver Felipe Massa was a disappointed man after missing out on a points finish at Sunday's Hungarian Grand Prix.
The Brazilian rookie, competing at the Hungaroring circuit for the first time, benefitted from a good start to move up to fifth place after having qualifying in seventh and looked set to score more points for a big part of the event.
Massa held on to his position for most of the race, but lost out to the McLaren drivers and Jordan's Giancarlo Fisichella after his second pit stop, dropping down to seventh place, where he went on to finish.
"I made a great start and it felt really good running in fifth place for so long," explained Massa. "In the first stint the car felt nervous; it was definitely better in the second, but then became nervous again on the third set of tyres.
"I just couldn't hold off Fisichella when I came out of the pits, and towards the end I thought it better to finish than risk having an accident with him trying to get sixth place. Naturally I'm very disappointed not to score a point, but I think it was a fantastic race for me this afternoon and another chance to prove what I can do."
Massa's teammate Nick Heidfeld also failed to score any points, finishing down in ninth position.
