Magistrate pleased with de la Rosa meeting

The Modena magistrate responsible for the criminal investigation of the Formula One spying affair said his meeting with McLaren test driver Pedro de la Rosa yesterday was very helpful, and was full of compliments for the Spaniard

The McLaren driver, whose exchange of e-mails with teammate Fernando Alonso was used as evidence in the case, met with Giuseppe Tibis on Tuesday.

Alonso had already met with Tibis on October 9.

Tibis admitted his meeting with de la Rosa had been very productive, and said that it is unlikely Briton Lewis Hamilton will also be interviewed.

"De la Rosa was exhaustive and convincing. He is a likable person, we spoke in many languages, but we understood each other well," Tibis told Gazzetta dello Sport.

"I think an important outline of the issue has emerged. After the interviews with Alonso and de la Rosa, we'll do a screening of all the material we have in our hands.

"It's likely that in one month's time we'll hear more witnesses. Hamilton? His position is particular, we need caution, at the moment I can say that the possibility that the English driver will be heard is very remote. As for the suspects, we don't expect to question them."

McLaren lost all their points in the Constructors' Championship after they were found guilty of benefiting from the possession of Ferrari data.
