Kubica visits Enstone for seat fitting

World Series by Renault champion Robert Kubica has had his seat fitting with the Renault team ahead of his maiden Formula One test next month

The Polish driver has been given the test as his prize for taking the World Series title this year, and has been lined up for a run at Barcelona on December 1.

Ahead of the test, Kubica had his seat-fitting in this year's championship-winning R25 at Enstone on Thursday at the Enstone factory. Giorgio Mondini, the Eurocup Formula Renault V6 champion from 2004, will test alongside Kubica and will have his seat-fitting today.

"It was really impressive to see so many people around the car when I was sitting behind the wheel," said Kubica. "I'm not used to having more than five people around my World Series car.

"You get an overall understanding as to why Renault F1 has succeeded: because they are mega organised. You see how they check and care about every single detail."

Kubica also spoke with the engineers about his test - and was given an early heads-up about the controls.

"We talked about the test in Barcelona and he gave me some homework to do on how to work the steering wheel," he said.
