Klien enjoying life at Honda
Christian Klien says he is already feeling at home at the Honda Racing team after his early departure from Red Bull Racing last year
Austrian Klien decided not to accept an offer from Red Bull to race in Champ Cars in 2007 to chase available drives in Formula One.
In the end, 23-year-old Klien landed a seat as Honda's test driver, and began working for his new team at the end of last year.
"I enjoy working with the team a lot," said Klien during the presentation of the new Honda car. "I joined the team at the end of the season relatively early so I was able to do quite a lot of testing in November and December, and I got used to the car and to the team and it all went very good.
"Obviously the team is much bigger, it's a manufacturer team, and it's been a good time for me to get used to everything. My experience over this three years I think I can use to help them. I'm looking forward to test again today and tomorrow."
Klien will work alongside Briton James Rossiter, who has been promoted to the role of official test driver after a couple of years in Honda's young drivers programme.
Rossiter has welcomed his new status and he is hoping to help the team move forwards.
"To be in the car consistently is a lot more useful and I can adapt now more to the car and help improve the car for the race drivers," said Rossiter.
"I know what they want, having worked with them for the last couple of years. I understand what they need from the car, so that's very useful in helping the team progress."
