Klien, Coulthard Predict Tough Race

Red Bull's Christian Klien and David Coulthard are both predicting a tough United States Grand Prix on Sunday, with the pair struggling to find a good set-up on their cars for the race

The team appear to have suffered pretty badly from the set-up modifications demanded by Michelin to keep their tyres in a safe condition - and both drivers fear that their fortunes on Sunday will not be much better than they were on Saturday.

Klien qualified 14th but feared his car would not be good over long runs, while Coulthard threw away any chance of a decent grid position when he got sideways at Turn Eight and lost about half a second to land the 16th slot on the grid.

"The first day in Canada was difficult because I was first out, but here I had a good qualifying position," explained Klien. "I had quite a good lap. I was in front of my teammate. That was quite important to me.

"But while qualifying was not too bad, because with the one timed lap our car seems to be okay, we struggle a bit after two, three, or fours laps. We get a lot of oversteer.

"In Canada, the car was very difficult to drive and will be the same at this race again."

Coulthard confessed to a simple driver error caused by oversteer as he was left pondering what he could salvage from the weekend.

"It was good up until the end of the back straight in Turn 8," he said. "There was quite a bit of oversteer. We just lost a lap there, so nothing really much more to say than that. Now we have to see how the car advances in the race."
