JPM on a par with Schu, say bookies
For the first time this year, Michael Schumacher is not out on his own as the odds-on favourite to win this weekend's Grand Prix. Instead, Ferrari's world champion shares that honour with Juan Pablo Montoya - both are joint favourites to triumph at Indianapolis.
British bookmakers Ladbrokes price both drivers at 2-1 to win Sunday's race, and going on recent form it's hard to argue with them.
Montoya blitzed the opposition at Monza two weeks ago, and his BMW-powered Williams is expected to be a force once more, especially on the long, foot-to-the-floor start-finish straight at Indianapolis. The Colombian has been a victor at the circuit's oval before, winning the Indy 500 last year.
However, after a lacklustre Italian GP, Schumacher will be hoping to put on a show for the American Ferrari fans, and don't forget he won here last year, so it could be a battle royal between the two.
So if Ferrari and Williams are to dominate this weekend, getting a big return on a bet might prove difficult, so why not turn your attention to McLaren?
Although the Woking-based outfit is expected to struggle at Indianapolis, Mika Hakkinen is 20-1 to take pole and David Coulthard 10-1 to win the race, punters could well back the Silver Arrows as a profitable longshot, something you wouldn't have said about them this time last year.
