JPM hopes for ‘Michelin weather'

Juan Pablo Montoya is hoping that the combination of the Hockenheim circuit and hot conditions will allow Williams to make a step forward in competitiveness in this weekend's German Grand Prix. This race last year was the last time that either Montoya or Williams won a race

Traditional hot summer Hockenheim temperatures should play to Michelin's strengths and, last year, the Montoya/Williams combination was in a class of its own.

"The testing at Jerez went quite well, and I think these conditions, weather-wise, are probably not as extreme but I think they should be very good. Last year was a good race for the tyres and we were miles quicker than anyone else."

Montoya admitted, however, that competition among the Michelin teams is now highly unpredictable.

"One race you can be P2 and the next race you find yourself P8!" the Colombian said. "It's hard to say how the whole package will work here. It would be great if we could get a podium and awesome if we could get a win. With it being a year since the team's last win, it would be great to see the car perform well here."
