Jordan Will Take Us to the Top, Says Frentzen

Jordan driver Heinz-Harald Frentzen believes Eddie Jordan has the perfect characteristics to take his team to the top of Formula One.

Jordan driver Heinz-Harald Frentzen believes Eddie Jordan has the perfect characteristics to take his team to the top of Formula One.

Frentzen and teammate Jarno Trulli struggled last year, but the German is convinced that Jordan's fun-loving attitude combined with his professionalism make him the perfect man to secure a world championship.

"People have got it all wrong about Eddie," Frentzen said in the British newspaper The Sunday Mirror. "He is serious about his work - and I have no doubts he is a winner.

"Sure, he likes fun, but at the right time. He is not just a joker. He wants to do the job properly and lets you know if you are not doing it as you should.

"Eddie doesn't need the technical ability to design a fast Formula One car, just as Frank (Williams) and Ron (Dennis) don't have that ability. That isn't his role."

And Frentzen said he feels Jordan has put together the necessary ingredients to bring a world championship to the team's Silverstone headquarters.

"The important thing for any team is to get the right people together and Eddie is working to do that," he added. "I am sure we will progress this year."
