Jordan on a roll in Monaco
Jordan's revival continued with the best team performance of the Monaco Grand Prix
They were the only team to get two cars in the top four - outstripping championship rivals Ferrari and McLaren.
Jarno Trulli qualified second, the best grid of his career, while Heinz-Harald Frentzen starts fourth despite being baulked by Eddie Irvine on his fastest lap.
Ferrari's two drivers qualified first and sixth and the McLaren duo were third and fifth.
"To qualify on the first and second rows anywhere is good news, but to do it here in Monaco at such a high profile event is very special," said team boss Eddie Jordan.
"However let us wait until we can see the result of the race tomorrow before we celebrate too much.
Jarno and Heinz did a fantastic job."
The Irish team finished third to Ferrari and McLaren in last year's championship but have failed to live up to that billing this year, sliding to fifth behind Williams and Benetton.
After a slow start they have now picked up points in three of the last five races.
