Jordan looks to go one better

The Jordan team is determined to get back into the points scoring habit at next weekend's French Grand Prix after just missing out at its home race at Silverstone

Giancarlo Fisichella ran in sixth place during the British Grand Prix, but had slipped back to seventh at the chequered flag. His team-mate Takuma Sato was forced out when his Honda engine blew up.

"After our strong seventh place finish at Silverstone, the team has made great efforts to make the car even more competitive," said Fisichella, who completed 156 laps of testing at Valencia in Spain earlier this week.

"I am confident about the performance of the car and the [Bridgestone] tyres at this race."

Sato has only a small amount of experience of the French Magny-Cours circuit. "I have never raced at Magny-Cours, although I have driven there when I visited during the winter with my engineer to have a look at the circuit," said the Japanese.

"We had the track to ourselves with a little formula school car, admittedly in much cooler conditions than I am expecting at the weekend.

"The EJ12 is looking good and we are hoping to have further improvements from Honda, so I feel positive."
