Jarno Trulli Q&A

As far as a large chunk of the British public was concerned, Jarno Trulli was the villain of the Grand Prix at Silverstone, thanks to his first corner tangle with David Coulthard. After the team's good qualifying session the incident also robbed Jordan of a chance to score some points, and it didn't help that Heinz-Harald Frentzen was delayed in the incident. But what is the Italian's viewpoint on what happened? Adam Cooper caught up him after the race

"Yes, of course, because he closed the door. I don't know exactly what happened, because I think he didn't see me at all - that was the biggest problem. So when I understood that he was closing the door, I couldn't avoid any accident. I did try, but it was impossible. I ended up steering my wheel completely to try to avoid the accident, but I had no room at that stage. I was clearly ahead. I watched the video, and you can see clearly from the on board camera, there is my wing. So I don't know if he didn't see me, or he just wanted to close the door."

"This is a corner where you first of all, you don't brake, you just turn into the corner without braking. Second of all, it's wide enough to turn around together, and avoid an accident. So I really don't understand why he closed the door so badly. I couldn't avoid the accident. When I understood he was closing completely I slowed down the car, but it was too late. So that's why it looked like I am behind, but I was next to him turning in."

"Yes, because he closed, and I tried to get as inside as possible, and then there was no more place to go."

"I'm doing my race, he's doing his race. I'm not the one who is intimidated by someone else. If I am inside, as I was today, I will never give up."

"It was a terrible day for me as well!"

"We had a great chance. I really feel that today we had a great chance. The car was very strong, the team worked very well through the weekend. I was very happy and very confident."
