Jaime Alguersuari to announce plans now Pirelli duties concluded

Jaime Alguersuari says he will announce his future plans "soon" after concluding his work as a Pirelli test driver

The Spaniard was left without a racing seat for 2012 after being dumped by Toro Rosso and was then hired by Pirelli to carry out its testing duties ahead of the 2013 season.

Alguersuari's programme with Pirelli concluded with a test at Paul Ricard earlier this week and he says he is now preparing with a view of returning to racing action next year.

The Catalan has been linked with drives at Sauber and Force India.

"My technical work with Pirelli has finished," said Alguersuari in a statement on Thursday. "Thanks to all this mileage, where we have experienced all kind of weather conditions, Pirelli has been able to define their strategy in views to 2013.

"I have completed the miles of two grands prix in every test session, working as hard as I can. Now I hope that all my knowledge and experience can we transferred to a real competition field: I will clarify my future plans soon.

"I will be skipping some of the last Grands Prix but I will be back with my BBC duties for Austin and Brazil. I'm going to focus 100 per cent on my physical training, besides some compromises still with Pirelli and SEAT, and of course, my music!"
