Outspoken Jaguar Racing driver Eddie Irvine has said his Jaguar team will need some luck to beat their Benetton rivals to seventh place in the Constructors' Championship.
Benetton currently occupy seventh spot, three points ahead of Jaguar, and Irvine said the Renault-owned team have been lucky to have found new pace in the last two races to score more points.
"I was surprised how bad they were so I guess when you are that bad the intention is to go forward and they made a big step," said Irvine. "But they have their own wind-tunnel and they are in there 24 hours a day probably. These things happen when they do that and they've got a lot of experience.
"They have made a very big step, now we need to be lucky. They were very, very lucky at Hockenheim but they did a great race at Spa and we have been unlucky because the races in which we did very, very well we finished seventh and eighth and none of the big boys dropped out."
Irvine and teammate Pedro de la Rosa have just two races this season to beat Benetton's Giancarlo Fisichella and Jenson Button into the top-six and to score the points to secure seventh place.
