Jaguar aims for fifth in constructors' race

Jaguar Racing has set its sights on beating BAR-Honda to fifth spot in the constructors' championship over the final five races of the Formula 1 World Championship

The Milton Keynes-based team lies sixth in the points standings, just two points behind its Brackley-based rivals. It has been boosted by the arrival of Minardi ace Justin Wilson, who has replaced Antonio Pizzonia alongside its Australian star Mark Webber.

"We are extremely pleased with how the team has competed so far this season and we are now focusing on these last few races to push for as many points as possible with a fifth placed finish in mind," said Jaguar Racing managing director David Pitchforth. "With points being a realistic target for us this weekend, and Justin making his Jaguar debut, we expect another busy, albeit positive, outcome to the German Grand Prix.

"I believe that we have as much opportunity as any other team to race for fifth [in the constructors' championship]," added Pitchforth. "As we have developed the Jaguar R4 during the season its pace and reliability have improved to a level that we feel is worthy of fifth place. Silverstone was a difficult race for us, so with that in mind we will be keen to perform better at Hockenheim."
