The Jaguar team will not move forward until they introduce major aerodynamic improvements, according to Irishman Eddie Irvine.
Both Irvine and teammate Pedro de la Rosa continued to struggle at the back of the grid with the Cosworth-powered R3 on Saturday, both drivers complaining about the lack of grip generated by the troublesome machine in cold conditions.
Irvine claimed he gave it all in today's qualifying, only to finish in a disappointing 18th place.
"There is nothing I can do to make this car generate a good, fast lap," claimed Irvine. "It's got the potential, yes, but for some reason we cannot get it handle properly. There's very little else to add right now.
"Until we make a major aerodynamic advancement, we must accept our fate at cold weather circuits. Regardless of the problems we are currently experiencing, we must keep pushing forward with our targets â€" something the windtunnel should make a significant contribution towards."
De la Rosa's session was even worse, the Spaniard posting the penultimate quickest time of the day, only ahead of Minardi's Alex Yoong.
