Hungarian Grand Prix: Top teams differ in F1 tyre choices
Formula 1 frontrunning teams Mercedes, Ferrari and Red Bull have all opted for different tyre choices for the Hungarian Grand Prix
Pirelli has made the medium, soft and super-soft compounds available for the race at the Hungaroring that runs from July 22-24.
While all six drivers from the three teams have selected one set of mediums, there are differences when it comes to the amount of softs and super-softs chosen.
Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg have chosen four sets of softs and eight super-softs; Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Raikkonen have gone for three sets of softs and nine super-softs, while Daniel Ricciardo and Max Verstappen will have five sets of softs and seven super-softs.
The medium is by far the least popular tyre, with 19 of the 22 drivers choosing just the one set of that compound, with the exceptions being Force India duo Nico Hulkenberg and Sergio Perez, along with Esteban Gutierrez from Haas going for two sets.
Only Vettel and Raikkonen have gone for nine sets of super-softs, with the popular choice being seven, with Sauber pair Felipe Nasr and Marcus Ericsson, and Haas duo Gutierrez and Romain Grosjean going with eight like Hamilton and Rosberg.
