Heidfeld: there is more to come

Nick Heidfeld believes that he has still not reached his maximum potential with Williams, despite an impressive dry weather test with the team at Jerez in Spain this week

The German, who outpaced Antonio Pizzonia on Friday after gunning for a quick time at the end of the day, has earned praise from the team's technical chiefs and is confident himself that with a bit more work he can be even quicker.

"I think there is a little bit more to come from me, just from adjusting my driving style," Heidfeld told autosport.com. "The car itself is okay - it's very neutral and driveable.

"We have already improved on the car in a couple of areas and there are a few other things that I would like to look closer at the data for to decide what we should do - but the car is very good in the dry."

Heidfeld himself has certainly found his senses have not been dulled after a season racing in the midfield for Jordan - and, although the step up to the Williams has been pleasant, he still admits he wants the car to be even quicker.

"The car is so easy to drive and I did say last week that the engine is so powerful," he explained. "But when you get used to it you just want more. After a few laps, like any driver, you just want more and more power."
